Here are some of the steps you should take if you’re involved in an accident or crash on the road. First, access for injuries. Make sure that no one in your vehicle is injured. Second, look around, and if you’re in a busy intersection or somewhere where you think there may be potential for a second crash, we ask that you move your vehicles out of the road, if they’re operational. If you can’t move the vehicle out of the way, put your hazards on, get to a safe spot and call for help. Call the police, call 911 or your local agency. Once you’ve moved your vehicles out of the roadway, you can now approach and talk to the other driver to make sure everybody’s okay, and now you can begin the process of exchanging information.
